Approved Power Services Welcomes Barry John-Moore to the Beauly 132kV Reinforcement Project
Join us in welcoming Barry John-Moore, who has recently joined the Approved Power Services team. With extensive experience in the cabling industry and high-voltage environments, he will be working on the Beauly 132kV Reinforcement Project and supporting various sites across the UK in his role as an Operative.
Led by SSEN Transmission, the Beauly 132kV Reinforcement Project is required to enable the connection of Loch Luichart Extension II Wind Farm. With a connection offer for 36MW of generation issued in 2019, the project involves replacing ageing assets at Beauly 132kV Substation to support this new link to the grid. As part of this, APS is installing high-voltage cable and associated equipment for our client, NKT. This includes 19 new 132kV circuits, along with all necessary ducting, joint bays, and fibre connections.
Dave McMenamin, Senior Site Manager based at the 132kV project in Beauly, commented:
“This is a significant project for the region and a great example of collaboration across the supply chain. Our team brings extensive experience in high-voltage works, and Barry’s expertise further strengthens our capability on site, so it’s good to have him on board as we continue to support the successful delivery of this important connection.”
Dave continued:
“In the short time Barry has been with us, he has demonstrated the highest technical standards, coupled with a clear commitment to safety… something APS takes great pride in. We have an exemplary safety record, with zero LTIs or major incidents on our projects since our inception in 2008.”
