Present in the sector since 2008 - and with decades of combined experience across the team - Global Power Services offers a range of vital services to the communications sector, including fibre optic installation and associated enabling works. It’s an exciting time in the sector with the UK government having launched a national mission to lead in 6G development - committing up to £100 million for early-stage research and global standards-setting. The UK Infrastructure Bank, with an initial £22bn of financial capacity, is also set to prioritise digital infrastructure enhancements and expansion. 

Other projects driving growth - and opportunities - in the sector include the government’s Project Gigabit initiative. As part of the drive to expand gigabit internet access in rural areas, key digital infrastructure provider, CityFibre, has already increased its network footprint by 83% from 2022, building at a rate of 22,000 premises per week across 75 metropolitan areas, with more to come.
